Balangir District

The district of Balangir is headquartered at Balangir town. Balangir is surrounded by Gandhamardhan Hills in the north west and by the rock infested Mahanadi in the north east.

Balangir District is also called Bolangir District. The district has three revenue sub-divisions, namely, Balangir, Titilagarh and Patanagarh.

The district is famous through centuries for the Bhulias & Kastias, master craftsmen who work excellent motifs on cotton & tassar fabrics.
